On 23 October 2025, the Gauteng Women in Insurance (GWII) hosted another spectacular Ladies’ Golf Day at the prestigious Steyn City Golf Club, proudly sponsored by 1st for Women and Auto & General. The event brought together women and men from across the insurance industry for a day filled with fun, networking, and a touch of healthy competition.
Played over 18 holes, the day offered perfect golfing weather and a beautiful course that kept spirits high from the first swing to the final putt.
Registration and locker room experience
Upon arrival, players were greeted with welcome drinks sponsored by Envirosure and goodies from Digicall.
In the locker room, players found a well-stocked array of golf essentials, including bags, sponsored by 1st for Women, golf shirts from Innovation Group, socks from Camargue, caps from Old Mutual Insure, golf balls and hat clips from Guardrisk, golf towels from QSURE, water bottles from Fulcrum, sunscreen from Partner Risk Solutions, and divot tool sets from Garrun Group. The golf bag tags were sponsored by Optix.
Game play was monitored by the VPAR scoring system, allowing players to compete. This was sponsored by Discovery Insure.
Players had a chance at the R100 000 hole-in-one competition sponsored by Santam Casualty; Accident and Health; Motor Fleets, benefiting a GWII-nominated charity (R50 000 to the player and R50 000 to the nominated charity). Players were also treated to on-cart catering during play, sponsored by Bryte Specialist Motor.
After play, attendees enjoyed a gin bar sponsored by Santam Corporate Property (formerly known as Emerald Risk Transfer (Pty) Ltd), and post-game snacks, including sushi.
Dinner and prize giving
After a well-fought round, guests gathered for a sit-down dinner where GWII President, Kyndra Robertson, celebrated the day’s standout performances and memorable moments. This was followed by a lively prize-giving ceremony with four-ball prizes sponsored by Aon South Africa, Auto & General, Bryte Insurance, Camargue, and Discovery Insure.
Genoa Underwriting Managers generously sponsored the longest drive competition for both men and women on Hole 16, while other prizes were sponsored by Optix for Nearest to the Pin, and Digicall, Ctrack, AIG, and Road Trip for various lucky draw prizes.
