Join Gauteng Women in Insurance (GWII) at our first event for 2020 where guest speaker, Penny Bird, will speak about “The view from the shore: a journey of profound change.”
Our guest speaker bio:
Six years ago, I was a self-employed mum of two with a sunny disposition, but no real purpose outside my family: living an ordinary life of lightness and shade.
Then, by chance, I found my passion, bumped my head against the menopause (aka my midlife crisis), and embarked on an adventure of epic proportions…
I met amazing, philanthropic endurance athletes using manpower to cross-oceans, and quiet, humble individuals selflessly helping the people around them with kindnesses.
I would like to share with you how these experiences became a journey of huge self-discovery for me: how inspirational acts became my rocket fuel to live every day with passion, enthusiasm and purpose.
The changes within me are so dramatic, and have transformed my mindset so much, that I sometimes think I must look completely different from the outside.
I believe that when inspiration touches your life at the right time, in the right place, it will set you alight. It can be just one amazing encounter, or a series of encounters, but when it comes, you reach for your destiny and nothing will stop you.
