GWII hosts annual Golf Day

Gauteng Women in Insurance (GWII) hosted their prestigious annual golf day at the magnificent Steyn City Golf Club in Midrand with main sponsors Auto & General and First for Women.

Registration

At registration players were welcomed with a welcome drink sponsored by Envirosure and the players received goodies sponsored by Digicall.

Amongst the players there were also 4-balls sponsored by, Bryte Specialist Motor, Camargue Underwriting Managers, Discovery Insure, F&I Insurance and F&I Re, Guardrisk Insurance, Horizon Underwriting Managers, Innovation Group, Leppard, Old Mutual Insure, SHA and Tracker.

The locker room experience

Following registration, players walked into the lockers to get ready for the day and they were ‘greeted’ with a locker packed with golfing day essentials.

A funky fruit golf shirt sponsored by Innovation Group and matching golf socks sponsored by Camargue Underwriting Managers. A cap sponsored by Qsure and a golf towel sponsored by Old Mutual Insure.

Players were also provided with a golf accessory bag, sponsored by Auto & General, a pack of golf balls sponsored by Credit Guarantee and personalised ball markers sponsored by GIB.

The GWII golf day was played over 18 holes. The teams included a male industry colleague and the 18 holes played gave plenty of time for networking and friendly rivalry amongst the industry colleagues.

As per usual, there was a hole-in-one competition, where the players stood a chance to win R100 000 – R50 000 would go to the player and R50 000 would be donated to the GWII nominated charity, TEARS Foundation, sponsored by SHA Risk Specialists. Unfortunately, no one won it.

Off the field, after successful play

As players came off the field, players and guests then enjoyed a gin from the gin bar, sponsored by Emerald Africa. The day ended with a sit-down dinner, partly sponsored by Bryte Insurance Company Specialist Motor. Golfers and guests were welcomed by GWII and by our main sponsors, Riccardo Coetzee, Head of Auto & General and Seugnette van Wyngaard, Head of First for Women.

Prize giving

Prizes were given to the top five 4-ball players of the day and prizes were also given to the person who obtained the longest drive for the day as well as nearest to the pin.

After the prize giving, a few lucky attendees also won some lucky draw prizes.

Thank you to all of our prize sponsors, Discovery, Emerald Africa, FAnews, GuardRisk, iToo, Marsh and The Fulcrum Group.

Thank you sponsors

GWII would like to thank all sponsors that contributed towards this event.

This event would not have been possible without them.
