A magical Indian summer night
The event, hosted at The Higher Ground, was filled with vibrant colours and décor, sponsored by ONE Financial Services Holdings, to give the venue a magical Indian summer's night look.
Dressed for the theme, the women let their imagination run wild with bangles and dangling earrings, to fabrics and designs that were intricate and exotic.
With their Bollywood-inspired outfits, on arrival, the ladies were greeted by a Bollywood singer as well as Bollywood dancers. The dancers were sponsored by Consort Technical Underwriting Managers. This, was followed by welcome drinks sponsored by Leppard & Associates & Lombard Insurance, and a welcome gift was given to each lady, sponsored by Michelle Ori.
Off to do some networking, with a 360-selfie photo booth, sponsored by Genasys, the ladies then snapped away and captured the fun, while listening to lively music sponsored by Emerald Risk Transfer.
Endings and new beginnings
Easvarie Naidoo welcomed the guests and then starters, and then Shaazia Khan, GWII President, opened up the formalities with a reflection on the year that was, highlighting some of the inspiring and significant events of 2023. Shaazia bid farewell to the committee ending their commitments, Milesha Chetty, Molebatsi Langa, Sherri-Anne Steyn, Tanya Moroka and Nancy Danso.
She then introduced Catherine Albertyn as the new President of the GWII for 2024, with Kyndra Robertson as Deputy President and incoming committee members Leigh Potgieter, Megan Brink, Nadia Gouws, Paulette Khumalo and Velene Peters.
Once the formalities of the evening came to an end, the dance competition officially kicked off. Famous for its music and dance, the Bollywood dance competition saw the ladies show off their head, neck, body and footwork movements.
