2019 has been an exciting year for Gauteng Women in Insurance (GWII) as we have grown exponentially in numbers, events have gone bigger and better and we see fantastic companies host and sponsor functions.
What an exciting year it has been! We have had some really nice events on the cards including CPD sessions, mix n mingles and Leaderwalk events. In numbers, GWII has grown to over 1792 (and counting) women working in the short term insurance industry.
These are some of the charities that GWII has supported:
- Umgibe - Umbige Farming Organics
- Westbury Youth Centre
- Mine the generation Gap - Tomorrow Today Foundation’s
- GWII and IIG women’s day function - Ikholwa Children's Home
- Fire and Ice – Kwasa College
Throughout our other events e.g. CPD events, ticket sales funds were donated to charities and golf day shirts, for example, were donated to charities.
A big THANK YOU to all our members for all the contributions we received towards the charities which we supported during 2019. We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of all our ladies. Without your continued support we would not have been able to make such a difference in the lives of many people.
We have been very fortunate to attract some major sponsorship this year. Fantastic companies have hosted us at the functions which we have organised thus far, and we have also received stunning gifts for the goodie bags and for raffle prizes. Thank you once again to all those who helped out in any way.
Our members experience a profound sense of personal growth when attending our events, and we hope to continue that trend in 2020.
This leads us to remind you that the annual membership fee of R385 per person per annum will take effect from 1 January 2020. By charging a membership fee, we will be in a position to hire larger venues, book professional speakers and do things that you, our members, have expressed an interest in.
The GWII committee is hard at work in planning and obtaining sponsorships for 2020 – and we have some really nice events on the cards. Should you wish to pay your 2020 membership fee of R385, please do so, we are now open for 2020 membership payments.
